Worknow: Digital Job Portal for Professionals in Retail, Hospitality or Logistics

The Munich HR startup Worknow wants to close a gap for trained professionals and assistants with its job portal. Those looking for work can find the right job with just a few mouse clicks. After a simple configuration process, companies in retail, logistics or the food service industry automatically receive recommended applicants.

Munich Startup: Who are you and what does Worknow do? Please introduce yourselves!

Worknow: The two of us founders, Florian Bogner (25) and Leon Schwarzott (26), met while studying mechanical engineering at TU Munich. We met Philipp Riedel during our entrepreneurial careers. As the CEO of Avantgarde Experts, he supports us in all strategic matters.

All-in-one solution for digital recruiting

Munich Startup: What problem does your startup solve?

Worknow: Small companies have to put in a lot of effort to find and hire employees. We’re digitizing the recruiting process with an all-in-one solution to make it fast and plannable. We give applicants an experience that is completely mobile without resumes, etc.

Munich Startup: But that’s nothing out of the box!

Worknow: In medium and large companies, digital HR is now becoming widely accepted. For retailers and those in the food service industry, it isn’t necessary to implement such large-scale solutions. While there are quite a few job portals, they don’t have an all-in-one solution that combines the job portal element with easy management of the processes.

A particular challenge with the target group

Munich Startup: What challenge are you facing at the moment?

Worknow: The current situation with the opening and closing of businesses leads you to define your target customer based on who is open at the moment instead of continuing to focus on the main target group.

Munich Startup: Where would you like to be in one year, and where in five years?

Worknow: 600 companies and 15,000 users are currently registered, all of them in Munich. By the end of the year, we want to be active in the whole of Germany. By 2026, it will be possible to find a job through us in every European country.

Munich as a locational advantage for Worknow

Munich Startup: What do you think about Munich as a startup location?

Worknow: We’ve never had a problem finding qualified employees who really give their all. That is certainly more difficult in smaller cities. The expansion of the branch offices of large tech companies also shows that we have a huge locational advantage. Apple just recently announced that it will be investing a billion euros in Munich.

Munich Startup: Get up early in the morning or pull all-nighters?

Worknow: Pull all-nighters!
