5 Munich start-ups driving the energy revolution

These five Munich-based start-ups are developing solutions to accelerate the energy revolution in Germany and around the world.

Andreas Sichert, Co-Founder und CEO Orcan Energy

Orcan Energy produces energy modules to convert waste heat into clean electricity. The company’s technology utilizes small to medium industrial heat sources in the low-temperature range to generate electricity. Possible application sites for this solution include engines, industrial processes and ships. According to the company, more than 500 systems from the Munich-based startup are currently in operation worldwide. They have already helped save more than 130,000 tons of CO2 emissions, and over their service life, that figure is expected to rise to about 1 million tons. (Photo: Orcan Energy)
