Munich Startups That Are Promoting Urban Mobility

Regional trains and public transportation are experiencing an all-time high in Germany thanks to the 9-euro ticket. The fact that fundamental change is needed in mobility – especially in urban environments – is something these five startups are also aware of.

Golane (formerly Bluego): How tickets are purchased for public transportation differs from city to city, which is why using public transportation can indeed be seen as an obstacle and why many prefer to simply use their cars. Golane wants to put an end to the confusion and simplify ticket purchasing by going beyond city limits. The idea: With the Golane app, passengers should be able to check in and out of public transportation without having to buy a specific ticket beforehand. The best ticket combination is purchased automatically after a specified billing period ends. So far, the solution from the Munich startup is being used in Augsburg. (Photo: Golane)
