Munich Startups That Are Promoting Urban Mobility

Regional trains and public transportation are experiencing an all-time high in Germany thanks to the 9-euro ticket. The fact that fundamental change is needed in mobility – especially in urban environments – is something these five startups are also aware of.

Plan4Better: How can people in cities be motivated to drive less? Plan4Better has developed cloud-based planning software for sustainable urban and transport planning that is meant to help with just this issue. Ideally, urban environments would be planned so that all daily destinations can be reached by bike or foot within 15 minutes. For their concept, the spin-off of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) won the Munich Innovation Award from the capital city of Bavaria and also received the Smart Country Startup Award 2021.
