Pläin: Founded in 2019, the startup produces and sells a local, plant-based milk alternative in a returnable glass bottle with a deposit. The three founders Julia Deuter, Mischa Sysoev and Jonathan Herrmann have developed a patented recipe that is not only meant to taste good, but also includes all of the important nutrients that animal milk offers. In an interview with Munich Startup, the three explained: “With Pläin, we’ve reconstructed cow milk with plant-based elements, which means we have a composition of raw materials and therefore an extremely high-quality nutritional profile. On top of that, we produce locally in Freising and use returnable glass bottles with a deposit to counteract the ‘Tetra Pak’ insanity.” If you would like to give the plant-based milk a try, it’s available at places like the organic supermarket Vollcorner, Feinkost Käfer or the Munich Ohne shops.
